As you know, we covered Mobile Future’s Forum on how wireless is affecting elections. It was both fun and informative.

Once again, many thanks to Jed Alpert (Mobile Commons), Katie Harbath (Former Giuliani Campaign), Michelle Mayorga (Rock the Vote), and Casey O’Shea (DCCC) for making it a success…

In any case, we did a little Mash-up video of the event. Hope you enjoy it!

On Friday, I had the pleasure of having coffee in Adams Morgan with Jill Foster. Jill really need no introduction in the world of social media. She is the co-founder of DC Media Makers and her efforts in new media have been highlighted in the Washington Post… However, for folks in the telecomm policy space, Jill actively utilizes wireless to augment her contributions as a “roving” reporter and to make media.

In this interview, we discuss the mobile-social convergence and her upcoming trip to Denver to cover the DNC convention. Jill has access to many events in Denver and she will be utilizing Utterz to capture the action.

Make sure to check out her reports from Denver here

As many diners know, I was out in Virginia today at Blog Potomac. It was a great conference that attracted many local bloggers and social media gurus.

On that note, I was really psyched to interview Debbie Weil, who was a co-host of Blog Potomac and author of “The Corporate Blogging Book.” It is a great book and I suggest it for those who are interested in helping their company engage online.

In any case, here is Debbie discussing social media and the mobile opportunity on the horizon. Enjoy!

Mashable reports that help is on the way for iPhone users… These are big developments in mobile broadcasting and I look forward to watching the mobile media revolution come to life!

On a Mashable note, here’s a Qik video of me interviewing Adam Ostrow (Editor in Chief) who covered the stories above. Adam was in town for a politics and tech conference in DC.

As some of you know, I was in New Orleans last week attending the Nonprofit Technology Conference. It was my first NTEN conference and I’m already looking forward to the next one.

The first day here was a “day of service.” Basically, folks have an opportunity to give back to New Orleans for hosting us all week. I didn’t know about it until Monday evening when Beth Kanter mentioned being a part of a team that was launching a wireless network (equipment provided by Cisco) at St. Bernard’s Community Center. St. Bernard’s was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina and they are still recovering. Accordingly, I jumped on the chance to join this effort. Continue Reading »

While some politicians discussed their appetite to regulate the wireless industry on Capitol Hill today, I was doing a little mobile broadcasting. Jules Allen joined me for the impromptu session.

Paul Hurst joined us live via chat and he describes the mobile revolution.

Here’s an archive of the clip – enjoy!

On Tuesday, Chris and I went over to CTIA again to chat with Steve Largent. I had the chance to talk to him about the WMATA bill, the G-phone, and CTIA’s upcoming Wireless IT and Entertainment show in San Francisco, which I will be covering on their show blog.  Steve and I got into a little bit of a debate about the “old world” of Microsoft vs. the “new world” of facebook.

Check it out!

This past Spring at VON 2007 in San Jose, Chris and I had the opportunity to meet with some real innovators in the blogging community. One such person was Chris Brogan, who is a Community Developer for Network2.tv and Video on the Net, as well as the co-founder of PodCamp.

Chris is a real leader in building communities, and was nice enough to take some time at the conference to share with us some of his experiences with the wireless carriers and his insights on developing a conversation with consumers. With some much appreciated video blogging tips from Steve Garfield, we filmed our first interview and were excited to add video to the diner. Unfortunately, as Chris explained in a previous post, we had some camera compatibility issues and couldn’t upload as soon as we would have liked.

Fortunately, we’ve salvaged the video and are able to finally share it with the rest of the diner. Enjoy!
